Current softball outfielder for Gannon University (NCAA Div II)
As a redshirt freshman, appeared in 30 games while making 24 starts for the Golden Knights … hit .275 with 19 hits, including four doubles and two home runs … scored 13 runs and added seven RBI during the season … also stole four bases and posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.
Attended North Allegheny High School … played softball for head coach Morgan Vescovi and was a four-year starter … helped North Allegheny to a 12-8 record as a senor hitting .509 with a .586 on base percentage … had five home runs and eight stolen bases … was a first team All-State selection in 2024 along with earning first team WPIAL All Section honors and first team Big 56 All-Conference honors … was an honorable mention Big 56 All-Conference honoree in 2022 … member of National Honor Society.
Carlyn is excited to work with the next generation of softball athletes and pass on the skills that have brought her success on the field.

Current pitcher for Gannon University (NCAA Div II)
Added pitching support to Gannon’s staff during the season. Appeared in 11 games while making seven starts in the circle. Posted a 4-1 record with 19 strikeouts across 33.2 innings pitched. Tossed two complete games and one shutout during the season.
Played at Bethel Park High School in Bethel Park, Pa. Three-year starting pitcher under head coaches Heather Semplice-Scott (2021-2023) and Nicole Davis (2024). Named Big 5/6 6A First Team All-Section and Pittsburgh Post Gazette 6A All-Section Team at pitcher after previously earning Big 5/6 5A Second Team All-Section honors. WPIAL Senior All-Star with a 3.39 ERA with 153 strikeouts while hitting .337 with 2 HRs and 23 RBIs. Graduated with Highest Honors and AP Scholar Cord recipient. Three-year member of National Honor Society.

Private Lessons, Group and Team Trainings (ages 7-18)
- Cheyenne Hindman is a native of Harrisville, PA, and a distinguished alumna of Mercyhurst University.
- A 3-year starter for the Mercyhurst Lakers softball program, 2 time PSAC West 1st team and 1 time 2nd team.
- Over the course of her collegiate career, she started in 155 games, with 157 hits, a .328 batting average, 16 home runs, 15 doubles, and 110 RBIs.
- Hindman played an integral role in leading the Lakers to one of the most successful eras in program history—helping her team set multiple school records, achieve a runner-up finish in the PSAC Championships, and earned a spot in the NCAA Regional Tournament.
Chey specializes in private instruction with a focus on hitting and pitching. Her coaching philosophy focuses on teaching fundamentals of high-level athletes, while also emphasizing teamwork, discipline, and solid fundamentals.

Softball Hitting Groups (ages 7-10)
- Brianne Egelston is a native of Fultonville, New York, and a distinguished alumna of Mercyhurst University.
- A five-year starter for the Mercyhurst Lakers softball program, Egelston made her mark as a dedicated and dynamic left fielder.
- Over the course of her collegiate career, she started in 163 games, amassing 163 hits and maintaining an impressive .304 batting average. Her offensive contributions included 3 home runs, 25 doubles, and 78 RBIs, reflecting her consistency and impact at the plate.
- Egelston played an integral role in leading the Lakers to one of the most successful eras in program history—helping her team set multiple school records, achieve a runner-up finish in the PSAC Championships, and earned a spot in the NCAA Regional Tournament.
Brie loves working with young athletes and focuses on teaching fundamentals, building confidence, and making the game fun while helping players reach their potential.

Played softball since the age of 9 and brings over a decade of experience to the field and plate as a sophomore collegiate athlete.
Gabi is very passionate about fundamentals, effort, and mental toughness, and am committed to helping athletes develop both their skills and love for the game!

How does it work?
Apply now to join our team of positive and forward thinking private instructors!
We work with 3rd party private instructors that meet our values of positive coaching and a focus on teaching fundamentals to athletes of their age. Great coaches are teachers and can mentor athletes to be the best they can on and off the field. They have an important influence on athletes and we respect the value coaches and instructors provide. It is our goal to provide a facility that offers instructors the resources necessary to focus on teaching athlete to the best of their ability.
For instructors that meet our values we provide the following:
- Free membership. Family members can be added for +$25/month or $40 for a family.
- Access to membership calendars and booking. A calendar will be setup showing the coaches availability and allow members to contact them to schedule.
- Instructors handle their rates directly parents.
- No charge for cage/turf access for instructors when working with Strike Zone members.
- Non-members must sign up for a cage at the current cost and sign the necessary waivers.
- Storage locker for private instructor tools (within reason).
- 24/7 Cage scheduling
- Four (4) 50 foot cages
- Two (2) 70 foot cages
- 50 foot cages include Hack Attack pitching machines (after safety training)
- The facility provides all balls for machines and BP.
- Open turf area (when not in use)
- Guest WiFi and waiting area for parents
- Access to Hit Trax (when not in use for leagues or teams)
- Ability to offer high level clinics and training sessions.
- Strike Zone will market clinics, lessons etc on the website and social media. Large events we will work to bring the local news onsite (if desired).
Instructor minimum requirements:
- College/University experience or multiple years coaching at a high level.
